25th Consecutive NJ State Group 1 Title
That's a mouthful. Congratulations to the entire Paulsboro wrestling team - wrestlers and coaches - past and present - for this amazing accomplishment. For any of you who may not know - this is a National record for any High School sport. No other high school sports team in the country has ever matched this record - ever. How mindboggling is that? Little ole Group 1 Paulsboro - setting National records!
Could we be any prouder of these fellas? I just ooze with pride when I talk about them. I am so thankful I get to be a part of this program, as a fan.
Thanks to FityCent who posted the live results on the forum yesterday. Geez that was nerve wracking - I hate not being there. A couple of the boys were supposed to have nail biters and God Bless'em, they got it done. 103 and 215 against Brearley were supposed to come down to the wire - did anybody let Eric and Alex know? I believe Brearley had chalked up wins at 171 and 152 also - awwwww - the Raiders just ruined their whole day. Then I hear that a couple of the Bears fans were a little less than gracious when it was over. Tsk, tsk, tsk. They should know better than to get our fans riled up. We and our toothless selves don't take kindly to trash talk!
Now we move ahead to the individual tournament - Districts start Friday night. I think the seeding meeting is tonight. Mission - advance all 14 to Regions. That would be so cool. I talked to Paul today and told him that's his job now. He gave me the same answer he always gives - he just laughs at me.
